Applied for ICRA IPO.
It seems to be a very small issue and looking at the subscription stats ... ( 54 times oversubscribed in retail category. ..), my chance of getting an allotment just seems very highly unlikely.
My Money stands blocked.

The Market seems to have started moving up again and among the stocks that I think that will do well in the near future are BHEL, IVRCL, ABB

Nifty and Sensex have almost performed remarkably in this week. In comparison my portfolio did under-perform the indices. My portfolio went up by 5% this week compared to 7% by the indices.

Simple technology for a better living (Password Management)

In todays world .. every website seems hell bent on an account.
Each account has a different requirement for a id ...
And password restrictions are also different .
Over that password need to be changed now and then .
Using the same password for all accounts is obviously not a good
Keeping the passwords in a unencrypted file is not a good solution
This is the same with ATM pins.

solution.
using a simple technology.
keeping the passwords in a encrypted file.
one such solution is using truecrypt.
Using this .. U can safely store any number of passwords in an encrypted file.
The only damage unauthorized persons can do is .. well
may be able to delete the file ..
Hence keep a copy of this file in your mail box, usbdrive, desktop ..
and anyother place in your computer.

Also this solution may be used for storing any other private files
just not password.

Few cares that need to be taken are:
1. Don't disclose the password that you to de-crypt the file.
2. Don't use the same password that you use to de-crypt to any other account.
3. Keep the time you leave the file unencrypted as short and as rare as
possible.
4. Stored the encrypted files at a number of locations.

Mindtree listed with a less than expected price .. and Idea listed even bad.
Infact the listing price of Idea, FirstSource and Mindtree makes IPOs no more
attractive.. Locking so much money and then you are not even sure if you get allotment
even after investing around 1 Lakh. Probably we will see the next few IPOs may
not be seeing good response in retail category.. Last time we saw this phenomenon,
many retail investors including me, misses some IPOs like Atlanta, Ace, Opto circuits

Again Moral of the Story: Issues which are hyped at the time of the bidding
may not have a real good listing . However small companies which are unheard of
which don't hog limelight when bidding and which can grow faster since they are
small actually do well.

However the listing price is not the only criteria... The long term perspective of some
of these companies still look good.

Some good news: Got allotment in Mindtree (15 shares) and even
my dad got allotment (15 shares) ... I hope that it lists and stay
at a considerable premium...
